Say it with me! IT’S SUMMER!!
I love summer. Yes, we homeschool year round, but that doesn’t mean I love summer any less. There’s just this magic feeling in the air. Our daily dip in the pool doesn’t hurt either.
For most of the country summer is a great time of exploration, be it through hiking, summer camp, or just digging in the back yard. And when it’s time to come in what better way to reinforce their learning than with our sweet friends on the Dinosaur Train?
Most of my kids are older than the target age for Dinosaur Train but I still find them watching it from time to time. Why? Because dinosaurs! It doesn’t help that they get solid scientific information and good lessons on how to be a good human too.
Featuring 8 episodes and 100 minutes of play time, when you watch Dinosaur Train: Nature Trackers your kids will be delighted to learn about the stars, reptiles, flowers, and more, all while learning important lessons about friendship and teamwork. The DVD also comes with an interactive game, an episode guide that doubles as a coloring book, information for parents, and special segements from Dr. Scott!
Our favorite episode was “Get Into Nature”. In this episode the kids decide to form a club to shar their nature discoveries. Things don’t go as planned, however, when they can’t decide how to run the club. This episode took me back to my school day recesses. Someone was always forming some kind of club, and it brought a lot of drama. In this episode the dinosaurs learn what is means to be a friend and to work as a team. It’s a great episode!
